About This Spot

Tucked away on a quiet stretch of Lincoln Avenue, Calistoga Thai Kitchen offers a serene, inviting corner of Calistoga where the pace slows just enough to savor a thoughtful meal. The moment you step inside, there’s a calm attentiveness in the air—soft music hums at a friendly volume, and the space feels both tidy and welcoming, a comfortable spot where neighbors might drop in regularly without fuss.

Its atmosphere strikes a rare balance between relaxed and refined, where the simplicity of the setting invites genuine connection without ever feeling rushed or overstimulating. This is a place where familiar Thai flavors are presented with gentle care, encouraging conversation around the table as much as enjoyment of each bite.

From the light tang of a fresh roll paired with creamy peanut sauce to the comforting warmth of a bowl of tom yum, the menu is an exploration that doesn’t overwhelm. The presence of heart-shaped rice on some plates hints at the personal touches woven into the food, while dishes like drunken noodles with prawns or the subtle richness of panang curry reveal a kitchen attentive to balance and flavor nuance. Freshness shows up not just in ingredients but in how much every dish feels thoughtfully composed, inviting repeat visits.

There’s also a quietly confident beverage list featuring classic Thai iced tea and the crisp, familiar notes of Singha beer, perfect companions to the vibrant flavors on the table. The crowd here tends to be a mix of locals who appreciate the understated comfort and visitors who find themselves pleasantly surprised by the genuine hospitality and flavor-focused cooking.

Overall, Calistoga Thai Kitchen feels like a gentle discovery—a place where familiar Thai dishes gain a subtle homey warmth, making each meal less about the spectacle and more about the simple joy of sharing good food in good company.

my favorite place in calistoga/st helena area. seriously, i come here once a week. service is great, the place is always clean, street parking right in front. music not ridiculously loud like some other places.

This was a good choice. The food was great and service exceptional. Very clean inside, and relaxing atmosphere. We saw several people look at the menu outside on the window, and kept walking. They missed out on a tasty meal.

This is a good food spot. The staff know that serving is more than just putting a dish in front of the customers. The Tom Yum soup was sour yet that was balanced by a mild sweetness making it a perfect choice. The heart-shaped rice was such a cute touch! The drunken noodles were tasty but not intensely spicy and the panang curry was as nutty as it should have been.

Pad thai with prawns is very good. prawns are fresh and yummy. so we ordered sauteed and grilled prawns, too(sweet and sour). and we all are definitely satisfied.

My husband does not like Thai food usually, but felt obligated to go when "everyone else" decided to rendez-vous there the other day. He liked absolutely EVERYthing that we ordered (we are vegetarians) -- except for the yellow curry. For me the curry was GREAT. And everything was so exquisitely garnished! Loved the Pad Thai, The room at 6 pm on a Friday was pretty empty. The tables are bare -- no linens on them, but everything is super clean. The waitress very friendly and "masked" for pandemic safety. We used physical menus that have plastic on them. We finished the meal with sticky rice and mango dessert. This was a work of ART besides excellent flavors. A guest with us (who grew up in Thailand) told us that this restaurant is "A cut above" typical Thai restaurants she's been to in the U.S.

Really good food, freshly prepared and reasonably priced. Very nice people. Great vegetarian options.

We stayed at the Calistoga Inn and after a long day in the valley stumbled across the street to this gem of a restaurant. We ordered the fresh roll, drunken noodle (tofu), and the green curry (tofu). We’re vegetarians and this is a common order for us when we eat Thai. The rolls were delicious. The peanut sauce left us wanting to go home and perfect a similar sauce ourselves. The medium spiced main dishes were absolutely perfect. We’ve had many a Thai dish and these were some of the best. We would give more than 5 stars if we could. Eat here if you’re wondering whether you should or shouldn’t.

We had just finished a mud bath and massage treatment near by and were starving! Most of the weekend was american food and we were having Asian food withdraw! This place hit the spot. We ordered the calamari, the crying tiger, and the drunken noodles beef. Every single dish was delicious. But the crying tiger was one of the most flavorful ones I had ever had. The calamari was super fresh as well. The service was very attentive. I was not expecting authentic Thai in a small town.
